Michael Bolen is the COO of Bridges Training Foundation presented our program about this worthy charitable organization, started by he and his wife, MeLissa Boler over a dozen years ago. Texas is 49th of all the states in support of people with disabilities, and these individuals and their families need help. Bridges focused on after high school because many needs are met when the disabled are children but not so after graduation. He talked about that “cliff” that happens to many disabled after high school that winds up giving them little recourse but staying in their home. So, Bridges focuses on both social development and finding meaningful jobs (and training) for their clients.

This slide showed some of the results of the work of the Bridges Training Foundation.

At the end of his presentation we made the usual children's library book honorarium. Here is Michael with our president Don Ellis.
