Chief Carl Smith introduced Crime Prevention Officer Chris Douglas to speak to us at our regular meeting on January 17th.
The Midlothian Police Department has a department dedicated to crime prevention programs. Officer Chris Douglas spoke to us about some of those programs on January 17th, especially mentioning the Community Action Team unit, the Citizen's Police Academy and Volunteers in Policing. Chris travels to schools to give presentations and programs, often dressing up like a superhero to get their attention or use a little humor to be remembered better.
Chief Carl also mentioned that there are a couple of ground breaking ceremonies on Thursday, February 2nd that some of us might like to attend - 10 a.m. for the new police headquarters and 10:45 for the new city hall.
