Here’s your chance to speak to a weatherman and ask all the questions! This week, Tuesday, May 9, Midlothian Rotary welcomes Kevin Crouch as our guest speaker. Come by Beef 'O' Brady's private dining room at noon to hear the presentation.

Kevin Crouch is the Founder & Content Director of South Metro Weather, formerly known as Ellis County Weather. Kevin was born and raised in Ellis County, and was fascinated by weather early in life. He spent his childhood pretending to be a weatherman, drawing fronts and storms on laminated maps in what he called the “Ellis County Weather Center”.

In 2015, as social media had become the most common form of electronic communication, Kevin started Ellis County Weather on Twitter. Soon, it was so popular that he added a Facebook page – and it blew up from there.

He’s become known for his detailed, reliable and localized severe weather coverage, as well as his efforts to educate students about weather by visiting local schools. In 2021, Kevin began managing Ellis County Weather full time, and in March of this year he rebranded to South Metro Weather – covering Ellis, Johnson, Hill and Navarro Counties.
