We’ll have our annual update about our local Meals on Wheels organization today from Lisa Deese. Oh, yes, this is March, so the annual March For Meals fund-raiser is happening right now.
Lisa is the Development Director for Meals on Wheels North Central Texas. She’s been in the non-profit sector for 20 years, having started as a volunteer coordinator at Dallas Life, a large homeless shelter. She moved to Alvarado and joined our local MOW as Community Relations Coordinator some 15 years ago, and is now Development Director. Soon after arriving in our area she started the AniMeals program since so many seniors also need help with their animals for food, vet care, etc.
