Midlothian Rotary President Cammy Jackson is shown here with Brad Pelo and the children's library book being donated in his honor after his presentation on Tuesday afternoon, May 23rd.

Brad Pelo told about the beginning of the idea for this project - a Dallas Jenkins short film - and the pathway taken to bring this to fruition. Seven seasons are planned and production is into the fourth season.

He showed a video taken by a very maneuverable drone of the Midlothian lot setup - quite interesting to see the various sets. Most of the "filming" is done at the Camp Hoblitzelle site now, with some in Utah. The series is "crowdfunded," so money raised by many people interested in seeing this series be successful and encouraging others to "pay it forward."

My guest, Maxine, had been an extra on the set for one of the big crowd scenes (Sermon on the Mount, Feeding of the 5,000) and was wearing her shirt with "The Chosen" logo. Our member Glade Smith had helped Brad find a place to live when he decided to move here from Utah.

We had a luncheon of lasagna and chicken alfredo plus salad and garlic bread, and that was pretty quick to serve and eat. Our total attendance was 22, good, but could've been better. We had 11 Rotarians and 11 guests including our speaker.
