Our own (past president) Tim Tobey spoke on the topic "Why is my insurance so high?" on April 8th. Tim is a long-time State Farm agent here in Midlothian.
Natural disaster-prone areas. Reinsurance. Car parts that crumple for safety purposes but then cannot be fixed. These are just a few of the issues that drive up rates - along with the rate of inflation for replacement parts and building supplies. Tim focused on auto first and then homeowners / property insurance.
Don presented Tim with the library book, and clowned around a little by climbing up on a chair to make the presentation.
